It Is Given To You

The words of the Apostle Peter stand like a pillar of fire in the New Testament. They are words not only to the early church but to every believer in every generation. He writes in 2 Peter 1:3, “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.”

Read it again slowly. His divine power has given us everything we need. Not some things. Not most things. Not only spiritual things while neglecting earthly things. He says everything. Everything necessary for life, everything required for godliness, everything demanded by destiny, everything tied to purpose. It has been given. Not will be given in some distant day when we are holy enough or when we labor enough or when we finally qualify. No. Peter says it is already given.
